Wang Yuetao Attends 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference

The 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from November 30 to December 12. On December 4-5, Wang Yuetao, Chairman of the company, was invited to attend related events and hold talks with relevant parties. Hu Keyu, Vice General Manager of the company, also participated.

Wang Yuetao attended the COP28 Forum on Eliminating Methane Emissions and Accelerating Decarbonization in the Oil and Gas Industry, a heavyweight events of the conference. He conducted business exchanges with senior executives from many global oil and gas companies on-site and shared the company's sustainable development practices.

During the conference, Wang Yuetao met with heads from cooperative partners such as ADNOC and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB). When meeting with Al Kaabi, ADNOC's Executive Director overseeing Low Carbon and International Growth, Wang Yuetao stated that the current exchanges and cooperation between the two parties have achieved remarkable results. ZhenHua Oil will continue to uphold the "small shareholder, big contributor" cooperation concept, actively seek further business opportunities with ADNOC in the low-carbon field for mutual benefit and promote fruitful cooperation. In talks with FAB Vice President Hadina, Wang reviewed the history of cooperation between the two sides and expressed gratitude for FAB's long-standing support and assistance to ZhenHua Oil, hoping FAB can provide more quality services for the company's business development.

Wang Yuetao also met with Zheng Deyan, Vice Secretary of CPC Yantai Municipal Committee and Mayor, and the delegation. Wang introduced ZhenHua Oil's business layout, project investment and market development in Shandong. He stated that the company will strengthen communication with Yantai to jointly explore new opportunities for central-local cooperation and hoped Yantai will provide strong support to ZhenHua Oil.

This COP28 hosted by the UAE had over 160 national leaders and heads of government in attendance, making it the largest world climate conference to date. It aimed to conduct the first global stocktake of the Paris Agreement to align with its temperature control targets, increase climate financing for developing countries, and expand investment in climate adaptation. The company will take this conference as an opportunity to engage with large international oil and gas companies and gradually strengthen systematic planning in terms of emission reduction strategies, systems, and technical roadmaps.
